Spyderco Knives: Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, SP-C204MF

The illustrated Spyderco Knife Sharpener is the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker that features versatile mess free sharpening (no oil, water or lubricants required). The triangle shaped stones sharpen plain edges on the flat sides, serrated edges on the corners, and pointed objects along the grooves. The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker includes two sets of high alumina ceramic triangle stones (medium grit for aggressive sharpening and fine grit for finishing), brass safety rods and a polymer base with preset sharpening angle settings at 30 degrees, 40 degrees and 12.5 degrees, that also serves as a storage case. An instruction book and video are included with this knife sharpening set. The Spyderco Tri-Triangle Sharpmaker is made in the USA.

I just got the sharpmaker in the mail today I also ordered the uf ceramic stone fyi it only comes with one stone I thought it came with two for 18 bucks but no just one so if you dont want to alternate sides you have to buy two but honestly you only need to do like 15 passes per side it is no big deal to do it. So on to the review, the system is so good. I never watched the DVD only a few youtube videos about it and my kershaw blur is so damn sharp like scary sharp. Took me about 20 min...I bought the knives plus 8 inch strip as well it works so well with the whole system. Just to see what the difference was I sharpend it with just the stones that came with it the medium ceramic and the fine ceramic then striped it and the knife was absolutely super sharp then I used the uf ceramic stone and stroped it again and wow it really did make a noticable difference..I highly recommend getting the uf stone and the kp strop with the sharpmaker...but still works crazy well without it....

I considered all sharpening options including Arkansas stones, Belgian stones, Norton stones, and Japanese water stones. I looked at various gadgets that hold either the stones or blade to help the sharpener maintain the desired angle. I looked at several croc stick type sharpeners also. I decided to try this Spyderco Sharpmaker because I just wanted sharp knives and I didn’t want to make a hobby of sharpening. I just want sharp knives and to use them. I didn’t want to have to store a lot of items, have a mess to clean up, or spend a ton of money. The Spyderco Sharpmaker is fast and easy to use, and my knives are incredibly sharp. There is no mess. It stores in itself. I don’t have woodwork tools such as chisels or anything other than kitchen and pocket knives.

After all this years, decades actually - with this I can sharpen all the knives in the house like razors. Great stuff.
