Benchmade Knives: Benchmade Freek M4 Knife, Part Serrated Black Blade, BM-560SBK1

The 560SBK-1 Benchmade Freek Knife, the latest iteration of the popular Freek EDC, features a 3.60 inch part serrated drop point blade made of CPM M4 super steel, .114 inches thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 62-64. The blade has a non reflective black finish, a notched thumb ramp for secure grip, and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The gray and black G10 handle, 4.86 inches closed, has a red base layer and red anodized aluminum spacers for visual interest, milled texturing for secure grip, sturdy AXIS Lock, a lanyard hole, and a side to side reversible steel pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Benchmade Freek M4 Knife has an overall open length of 8.46 inches, and it weighs 4.30 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.

Classy, beautiful EDC knife 09/08/2020

The Benchmade Super Freek has a lot going on for it, not least a superior M4 steel, although this is more for bragging rights than real-life application. I was surprised by how light this knife feels in the hand, despite its weight of 4.3 oz. This may be due to the way that the G10 feels. I love red accents, and the designers did a great job. At first, I thought that the handle looked plasticky, but after handling and carrying the knife for a few days, I have come to like it a lot. The design is beautiful and discreet, and it may be that weight distribution is really good because the knife feels lighter than it is. Excellent pocket clip, very classy overall design with the beautiful black coated blade complementing the rest of the knife. It is comfortable in hand with some jimping on the blade for a good grip. However, this is clearly an EDC knife and not any kind of tactical knife. The grip is less secured than many other models available. Perfect for a classy EDC knife and carry.
