The MODIFIED Benchmade Bugout with AWT OD Green Aluminum Scales is a slim, lightweight everyday carry knife that is equally suitable for a pair of dress pants or a backpack. The 535GRY-1 Bugout features a 3.24 inch drop point blade made of CPM S30V stainless steel, .090 inch thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60, a non reflective gray Cerakote finish with a top swedge and dual tan thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The ergonomic Ranger Green Grivory handle has been replaced with the AWT OD Green Scales. The original scales will come in your box. The Benchmade Bugout has a closed length of 4.22 inches, an ambidextrous AXIS Lock, a large lanyard hole and a side to side reversible discrete carry pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Benchmade Bugout Knife with AWT OD Green Aluminum Scales has an overall open length of 7.46 inches, and it weighs only 2.2 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.

Green Aluminum Scales take this Bugout to the Next Level 07/29/2022

I purchased 2 Bugouts before this one. The carbon fiber scales with s90v steel version and the gold class Bugout. The aluminum scales are very light (light enough knife is still balanced) but give the knife are much solid and comfortable feel. The scales feel awesome and unlike most anodized aluminum and titanium scales, these ones don't scratch if you sneeze. Not even a micro-scratch so far. They are type 3 anodized which is extremely durable (most anodized scales are Type 2). The knife looks awesome too. The picture shows the blade darker than it is in person but it looks fantastic with a light grey color. Even non-knife people are impressed by the look and feel. While it's the least expensive Bugout I own, it instantly became my favorite. My wishlist: make a version with M4 steel since it has the protective coating, it won't rust, hold edge longer and be stronger. Way to go Knives Plus!

I have 4 Bugouts, including their silver aluminum model (535BK-4).

This green aluminum combo is superior looking, with a great and rugged hand feel. It really takes the standard ranger green Bugout knife to the next level.

The scales turns a $190 knife (new prices, full retail) into a $350 knife, quality wise.

The knife arrived sharpened by KnivesPlus. It is far sharper and readier for action than all my others.

I lost my mini bug a few months back and after trying a few EDC knives I still couldn't find the right one. I decided to dry the larger bug but wanted it to be something unique. This knife is beautiful and extremely lightweight. Knives Plus did a fantastic job on creating a simply, yet functional piece with the mods. The plade is very sharp and the handles feel so sturdy and maneuverable. This will definitely be my main go to for a while. Thank you!

I have around 10 bugouts and these scales are the best out of G10, Benchmade TI custom, and carbon fiber. These aluminum scales work perfectly for me. A bit wider than the factory scales but the strength makes up for it and it feels much more sturdy in hand!
