Chris Reeve Knives: Chris Reeve Umnumzaan Knife, Drop Point, CRK-UMN1000
This Umnumzaan Knife, designed by Chris Reeve and manufactured by Chris Reeve Knives, features a 3.675 inch Crucible S45VN stainless steel modified drop point blade, .1400 inch thick. The blade has a special large hollow grind for strength, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, and an ambidextrous thumb stud with polyurethane O-ring shock absorbers (developed by Grant and Gavin Hawk) that locks up against the frame for superior strength against sideways torque. The 6AL4V titanium handle, 4.77 inches closed, has a tactile sand blasted finish for secure grip, a sturdy pivot with large pivot screw and pin, large bronze phosphor washers, and the innovative Reeve Ceramic Ball End Integral Lock that uses a ceramic ball as an interface for the lock bar to the blade tang for consistent solid lock up. (The ball also drops into a detent on the blade to ensure the blade does not open accidentally.) The handle has machined checkered texturing for secure grip, open frame construction, a lanyard post, and a removable pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Umnumzaan has an overall open length of 8.409 inches, and it weighs 5 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.
