The Columbia River Knife and Tool M21 knife was designed by Kit Carson. The CRKT M21 combines the aluminum handle of an M16 knife with a recurved spear point blade. The blade of the M21 knife is ground with a false top edge and a deep belly, yet it retains a full width central spine for most of its length for maximum strength. The 6061T6 aluminum handle has an open build, and is skeletonized to reduce weight. Additional features of the M21 include: Carson Flipper blade extension, which serves as an option for opening and as a protective finger guard when open; and LAWKS (Lake and Walker Knife Safety), an additional blade lock that converts the M21 into a virtual fixed blade when engaged. The CRKT M21 knife is available in two sizes, with a plain or part serrated blade.
