Columbia River Knife and Tool: CRKT Snap Lock Knife, Plain Edge, CR-5102N
The Snap Lock returns! The CRKT Snap Lock, designed by Virginia knifemaker Ed Van Hoy, won the Most Innovative Knife Award at the 2004 Blade Show. "The stainless steel blade has a subtle drop point shape, and when closed, the matching wishbone frame is a 100% effective blade edge guard. The unique open mechanism becomes instantly intuitive once you push down on the front lever then rotate the blade outwards for a full 180 degrees. Once open, the minimal but very usable handle is extremely safe: the Snap Lock mechanism secures the knife so the harder you grip it, the more it locks the blade in place thanks to multiple positive locking surfaces between the frame and locking lugs." This Snap Lock Knife features a 2.554" rotating drop point blade made of 420J2 stainless steel, .124" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 50-52, a bead blast finish, decorative hole detailing and wheeled opening lever. The wishbone shaped handle frame, 4.207" closed, has a bead blast finish, the aforementioned Snap Lock, a handy lanyard hole and a removable pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The CRKT Snap Lock has an overall open length of 6.25", and it weighs 2.5 ounces.
