The ESEE IZULA-DE, named after the South American Bullet Ant, is the quintessential compact EDC (or discreet backup) that features single piece 1095 carbon steel construction, with a maximum thickness of .156 inch, and a non reflective Dark Earth powder coat finish. The Izula has a 2.63 inch drop point blade with a flat grind, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, the Izula Ant logo, and a skeletonized handle with large lanyard / carabiner hole. A black molded sheath with clip plate is included. The ESEE Izula Knife has an overall length of 6.25 inches, and it weighs 2.0 ounces without the sheath. Made in the USA.
From the ESEE website regarding 1095 steel: ESEE knives made from high carbon 1095 steel will rust and stain if not properly cared for, especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor on the blade. Use Lock Tite when assembling any hardware, such as attaching the clip plate to the sheath.
