ESEE Knives: ESEE-JG3-BO Camp-Lore James Gibson Knife, ESEE-JG3BO

The ESEE-JG3-BO Knife, a Bushcraft knife from the ESEE Camp-Lore Series, designed by James Gibson, features a 3.5 inch drop point blade made of 1095 carbon steel, .125 inches thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 55-57, a flat grind, and a black oxide coat with Camp Lore logo detailing. The JG3-BO has full tang construction for strength; removable micarta scales with ergonomic contours and chamfered edges for secure comfortable grip, and a lanyard hole. A leather pouch sheath is included. The ESEE-JG3-BO Knife has an overall length of 7.625 inches, and it weighs 4.5 ounces without the sheath. Made in the USA.

From the ESEE website about the designer: James Gibson is a native east Tennessean, born and raised around the Great Smoky Mountain area. With a passion and love for the outdoors, he has studied and practiced bushcraft skills most of his life. James is the co-host of the Clinch River Knap-in and has been a flintknapper for 22 years. He is also a knife maker and obtained his Journeymen Smith Rating with the American Bladesmith Society (A.B.S.) in 2003. James is the lead bushcraft instructor for Randall's Adventure & Training and also has his own school in Tennessee.

The Camp-Lore Series was developed to answer the demand for traditional, basic, bushcraft knives. The designers of this knife series come from unique backgrounds and experiences, with each considered to be one of the best in their field. All of the Camp-Lore knives are simple, traditional, fixed blade designs that have been field-proven for years. Keeping with that simplistic approach, ESEE builds the Camp-Lore line in the USA utilizing 1095 carbon steel blades and removable Micarta handles …. Each Camp-Lore knife comes with a USA made traditional pouch sheath using leather supplied by one of the oldest tanneries in North America.
