The illustrated KABAR Knife is the KABAR Mark I Knife that features a 5 1/8" clip point fixed blade made of 1095 cro-van carbon steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 56-58. The blade of this KABAR Knife has a flat grind and a non reflective black epoxy powder coat. The stacked leather handle has a black metal butt cap and guard. A genuine leather sheath is included with this KABAR Knife. The KABAR Mark I Knife with plain edge blade and leather handle has an overall length of 9 3/16" and it weighs .45 pounds. Made in the USA.

The Mark 1 with leather handle is one of my favorites out of Kabar's lineup. The knife is everything that I was hoping for in terms of quality, style, durability, heft, ruggedness and just plain good design that has stood the test of time. The knife is very sharp out of the box. Debating whether to remove the black finish on the blade......have read various pros and cons about it.The sheath is also well made and looks like it will last. Knives Plus had a competitive price and, my favorite, free shipping. I would not hesitate to reccomend them.
