The illustrated Kershaw Knife is the Kershaw Piston Knife that features a 3 1/2" drop point blade made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel with stonewash finish. The blade of this Kershaw knife has a top swedge, dual thumb studs, a flipper and SpeedSafe Assist for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured black G10 handle, 5" closed, has an inset liner lock and a hidden lanyard attachment. A side to side and end to end reversible steel pocket clip is included with this Kershaw knife. The Kershaw Piston Knife has an overall length of 8 1/2" when open, and it weighs 4 ounces. Made in the USA.
From the Kershaw website regarding the inset liner lock: To build an Inset Liner Lock, Kershaw insets a strip of steel inside a knife's handle - most commonly when the handle is G-10. Insetting the lock in this way enables us to create a slimmer knife, while still providing the strength and security of a locking liner.
