The illustrated Benchmade Knife is the MODIFIED Benchmade Mini Griptilian Knife, designed by Mel Pardue. This MODIFIED Mini Griptilian knife features AN ACID STONEWASHED 2.91" modified sheepfoot blade made of S30V stainless steel, .100" thick.The blade of this Benchmade knife has a hollow grind, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, and a blade hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The BLACK Valox handle, 3.87" closed, has double stainless steel liners, ambidextrous AXIS lock and a lanyard hole. A side to side reversible steel pocket clip is mounted at the butt end of this Benchmade knife. The MODIFIED Benchmade Mini Griptilian Knife with sheepsfoot blade has an overall open length of 6.78", and weighs 2.56 ounces. Made in the USA.

I bought a regular satin finish 555 for the sheepsfoot blade and thumb hole, but really not a fan of Benchmade's blade coating and have been quite happy with previous KPlus service, so finding out they discontinued the blade style I got this and couldn't be happier!

The finish is beautifully done if a little lighter than the picture, seems durable, and has a pattern that will hide potential scratches very well. The knife itself was reassembled the same as the unmodified 555 I already own. Highly recommend. DL really knows how to sharpen a blade!

The acid stone wash finish is exactly what I had hoped for when I ordered it. The necessary resharpen by KP after the mod was razor sharp and significantly better than the edge on my other Benchmade knives. Blade was centered out of the box but I felt it was slightly to tight, half a turn on the pivot screw and some oil made it perfect. I recommend aftermarket scales and a clip as Benchmade's plastic scales feel like a happy meal toy, but the work knivesplus did is excellent.

This is my second knife from knivesPlus.
I love the black acid stonewash! Prices are good, customer service is good. ( I had a question on the phone ) They were very helpful. I will be ordering a BM 940 acid stonewash next.
