The illustrated MODIFIED Benchmade Knife is the Model 940 Benchmade Osborne Knife that features a 3.4" modified ACID STONEWASHED tanto blade made of S30V stainless steel, .115" thick. The blade of this Benchmade knife has dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The Model 940 Osborne Knife has a green anodized T6 aluminum handle, 4.47" closed, with a color anodized titanium back spacer, double stainless steel liners, and ambidextrous AXIS lock. A side to side reversible steel pocket clip is mounted at the butt end of this Benchmade knife. The MODIFIED Model 940 Benchmade Osborne Knife has an overall length of 7.87" when open, and weighs 2.90 ounces.

Blade is darker than the one pictured. I believe this is a result of not stonewashing long enough after the acid wash or perhaps doing the acid wash too long. However if you like the black blade, but aren't a fan of uneven wear of the coating on the blade this would be the way to go. I would however like to see a blade that has only been stonewashed, because I love the look of my survive knives that were stonewashed at the factory. Not to mention that a stonewashed blade would probably look so much better with brass, copper or titanium aftermarket scales installed. Unlike the 940-2 I previously purchased this 940 had zero side to side blade play and was a delight to open and close with the axis lock. I believe this will be my edc and fidget knife.

It's a great knife and looks good, but I seriously think I'd prefer a stonewashed blade without the acid wash. Otherwise it's exactly what you expect from the well loved 940 and knives plus properly resharpens it. The blade was centered and there was no blade play.

This version is very light in the pocket. Feels great in the hand. And who doesn’t like an axis lock? I’m sure there’s some, however it doesn’t get easier for a one-handed deploy. This one works for those of us with big paws.

Knife came beautifully acid etched and stone washed. It came razor sharp and shipping was very fast. Definitely recommend
