Ontario Knives: Ontario RAT-7 Knife, QN-RAT7
Randall's Adventure and Training (RAT) is a professional survival training, expedition guiding, and outdoor gear research team based in Alabama, with operations in Latin America. RAT is a legal U.S. representative of the Peruvian Air Force school of jungle survival.
The RAT team is considered a leading authority in the research, testing, and design of remote adventure and survival gear. RAT is proud to be exclusively partnered with the Ontario Knife Company to produce a new series of knives for hard-core adventurers, civilians, and professional soldiers around the world. RAT knives have served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and many non-publicized conflicts around the globe.
The Ontario Knives RAT-7 knife features a 6.5" drop point blade made of 1095 carbon steel. The blade has a non-reflective Zinc Phosphate finish, and a texture notched thumb rest. The Ontario RAT-7 knife is built to use, with full tang construction for strength, and canvas Micarta slabs. (The knife I saw had light green slabs, but the color may vary.) The contoured handle has a pronounced finger choil, and an extended pommel with a lanyard hole. The maximum thickness of the steel is .1875", and the overall length of the knife is 12". A MOLLE compatible nylon and plastic sheath is included with this Ontario Knife.
