The QS130-KP1 QSP Penguin is a compact EDC Knives Plus Exclusive that features a 3.06 inch sheepfoot blade made of premium S35VN stainless steel with a satin finish, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The unusual marble carbon fiber handle, 4.00 inches closed, has stainless steel liners for strength, sturdy liner lock, a lanyard hole and a side to side reversible deep carry stainless steel pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The QSP Penguin Knife has an overall open length of 7.06 inches, and it weighs 3.14 ounces. Made in China.

The Penguin Only Gets Better and Better 10/21/2020

I was already a huge fan of the D2/Denim Micarta Penguin and this upgraded model is better in every way. S35VN steel for well under $100? Great! It also has wonderfully smooth to the touch carbon fiber scales, marbled in a way that I haven't seen before, almost like raindrop damascus. It shimmers in the light.
Mine came centered, the action already buttery smooth. The blade detent is on the strong side, but not TOO much and i like that. Blade shape aside, the Penguin is reminiscent of the iconic Ontario Rat; slightly beefier than the Model II, but more pocketable than the Model I. My only qualm is that the thumbstud is not equally accessable for left-handers. It opens fine, it's just a qualm not a gripe, it's just a small thing that a lot of knife designers repeatedly do to left-handed knife-users.Whatever. Beautiful knife, thrilling upgrade, for a song of a price.
For the next variant, I'd love to see a rustproof penguin! LC200N steel and full titanium handle. Make it so!

Making a great knife better 09/03/2021

The regular Penguin is a solid knife, but I've already got enough D2. Who doesn't? The S35vn of this upgraded version is steal. I've never had carbon fiber before but I like it. Maybe a tad slippery compared to g10 or micarta but I've got no problems opening boxes and breaking down cardboard with it at my warehouse job. The sheepsfoot blade is perfect for that application. The detent is great and the blade snaps right out with ease. The edge on my particular knife is very sharp and even out of the box and the blade sits centered in the handle. Honestly, the only thing I'd change if I could is the washers for bearings but that's only a minor gripe and this is only a limited edition of a cheaper knife. Overall a great knife and the perfect way to finally experience a Penguin if you're burnt out on D2 like me.

The knife arrived quickly and was better than expected. The marbled carbon fiber is fantastic and the s35vn blade was sharp out of the box. The thumb studs and action are perfect. I love everything about this knife and the best thing of all is the price you pay for what you get. I am a genuinely satisfied customer and recommend this knife to anyone interested in buying it.

It’s a great knife. I really like the marble carbon fiber and it’s just sleek. The action was stiff at first but after playing with it and opening it over and over, it has become smooth and easy to open. It fits well in my hands but I have smaller hands. Overall this is a great knife for the price especially considering you get s35vn and good action overall.

I really like this knife. I got the D2 and green micarta version and liked it so much I decided to get this higher end one too. Still a great value, for s35vn and cool raindrop carbon fiber. Buttery smooth and great blade shape. At this low price point, I'm not afraid to use it. I take it to work everyday. Buy one, you will probably like it.
