Knife is sharpened to a razor edge. This service is done on a 2" x 72" Burr King and finished on a Baldor buffer using a leather wheel. Blades are kept cool so overheating is not an issue. The illustrated Silver Stag Knife is the Silver Stag Pup knife that features a 2 3/8" upswept blade made of D2 tool steel. D2 steel is a high carbon, high chrome steel known for its superior cutting ability, and expertly tempered for a long lasting working edge. The blade of this Silver Stag knife has an oval hole for opening. The Maple wood handle, 3 1/4" closed, has a liner lock. The Silver Stag Pup knife has an overall open length of 5 1/2". Made in the USA.

All Maple wood handles will vary in color and striation, which is part of the uniqueness of natural handle materials.
