The C148SBBK Spyderco Ambitious Lightweight - a welcome addition to the Spyderco Value Folder lineup, features a 2.31 inch serrated drop point blade made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, .118 inches thick, with a non reflective black oxide finish, a full flat grind, notched thumb ramp, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The black FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle, 3.58 inches closed, has ergonomic contouring and Bi-Directional Texturing for secure grip, skeletonized steel liners for strength, sturdy liner lock, a lanyard hole, and a 4 position steel pocket clip. The Spyderco Ambitious Lightweight Knife has an overall open length of 5.87 inches and it weighs 2.8 ounces. Made in China.

In its lightweight configuration, it trades the G-10 scales of the original for injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) with a high-traction Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern. Taking that evolution one step further, the Ambitious Lightweight Black Blade cloaks the knife's full-flat-ground 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade in a non-reflective black oxide coating. Consistent with that theme, the handle's full skeletonized stainless steel liners, four-position pocket clip, and other hardware also sport stealthy black coatings. Available in a choice of either PlainEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge, both configurations feature a sturdy LinerLock mechanism to lock the blade securely open during use.
