Spyderco Knives: Spyderco Viele Phoenix Knife, Red Sprint Run, SP-C114GPRD
The rise of the Red Phoenix! The C114GPRD Spyderco Viele Phoenix Knife, designed by the late Howard Viele, is a limited Sprint Run edition that features a 3.05 inch drop point blade made of VG-10 stainless steel, .118 inches thick. The blade has a hollow grind, a pronounced choil, signature Viele 3 hole pattern, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The handle, 4.55 inches closed, has full titanium liners with finger grooved contour for secure grip, red G10 scales for visual interest, patented Spyderco Ball Bearing Lock, and a removable pocket clip (also with 3 hole Viele pattern) mounted at the butt end. The Spyderco Viele Phoenix Sprint Run has an overall open length of 7.31 inches, and it weighs 4.1 ounces. Made in Japan; available in limited quantities.
From the 2021 Spyderco Reveal 7 Product Guide: The late Howard Viele was an exceptional custom knifemaker with a style all his own. One of his most distinctive collaborations with Spyderco was the Phoenix, a dynamic folding knife design that showcased our patented Ball Bearing Lock.
As a tribute to Viele, we are honored to rekindle this classic model as a limited-edition Sprint Run, featuring a hollow-ground VG-10 blade, full titanium liners, contoured red G-10 scales, and a right-side, tip-up pocket clip. Like all Viele designs, it also proudly includes his signature pattern of three holes near the spine of the blade.
