Spyderco Knives: Spyderco Pingo Knife, Orange, SP-C163POR
This Spyderco Pingo Knife, designed by Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes, features a 2.35" non locking modified sheepfoot blade made of Bohler N690Co stainless steel, .110" thick, with a flat grind and a small Spyderco hole for two handed opening. The contoured orange FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle, 3.45" closed, has texturing for secure grip, bug detailing for visual interest, and a side to side reversible wire clip mounted at the butt end. The Spyderco Pingo Knife has an overall open length of 5.8" and it weighs 1.9 ounces. Made in Italy.
From the Spyderco manufacturer's catalog: Specifically designed to conform to Danish knife laws, the new Pingo is a purpose designed two-hand-opening SLIPIT. Like a SLIPIT, it features a reversible wire clothing clip and a Trademark Round Hole; however, the blade hole does not allow the knife to be opened one handed. Instead, it provides a user-friendly alternative to a nail nick for two-handed operation. The Pingo's utilitarian N690Co blade has a modified sheepfoot profile and is mated to a textured orange FRN handle. The perfect socially friendly cutting tool, the Pingo was designed by custom knifemakers Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes and is made for Spyderco in Italy.
