From the Spyderco website: The ARK - or "Always Ready Knife™" was conceived by U.S. Army combat veteran John Shirley and his friend Sam Owens as a lightweight self-defense tool. Also a favorite for every-day carry and all watersports, its deeply curved clip-point blade is ground from 100% rustproof H-1 steel. Designed to pack impressive cutting power into the compact blade, it provides a strong, extremely sharp point. The fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle is molded directly onto the tang and features Spyderco's Bi-Directional Texturing pattern and an index-finger groove to guarantee a slip-resistant grip - even with wet hands. An improved, second-generation injection-molded polymer sheath has an integral tab for retention and a breakaway ball chain for neck carry. The perfect subcompact fixed blade, the ARK is a handy utility knife for any activity.
