This FB04 Spyderco Fred Perrin Knife is a discontinued item with serial number; BNIB, made in 2002.
From the Spyderco Archives: A former French Army Commando, world-ranked martial artist, and knifemaker, Fred Perrin's medium-sized fixed-blade is outstandingly balanced for comfort and performance. Fred is known in custom making circles for crafting knives that are first-and-foremost utilitarian. His specialty is fixed blades and they can be found on active duty military personnel around the world.
"The Perrin" has a balance point that results from the blade and handle being equal in weight and actually balances in the finger indent, which is part of the handle. This oversized finger indent offers good control over twist and is also the balance point of the knife for controlling the sharpened edge. An injection-molded FRN handle has anti-slip Kraton inserts and a lanyard hole. Made out of VG-10, the blade is flat-ground with a swedge halfway across the top and crosshatched texturing cover the spine. Comes in a Kydex sheath with a multi-positional Tek-Lok fastening system.
