Knife is sharpened to a razor edge. This service is done on a 2" x 72" Burr King and finished on a Baldor buffer using a leather wheel. Blades are kept cool so overheating is not an issue. This Para 3 is a member of the Spyderco Salt line-up featuring the standard 2.92-inch blade, 0.145 inches thick, in CPM MagnaCut stainless steel and the corrosion resistant yellow FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) handle, 4.29-inches long. This model boasts all of the well-known features of the standard Para 3 including the finger choil, jimping, reversible clip, compression lock, and lanyard hole while integrating the Salt Series design. Weighing in at 2.4 ounces, this Para 3 is perfect for every day carry in any condition, especially sea-side. Made in the USA.

I've owned a few Spydercos, but this is the first from the Paramilitary series. I wanted the Salt variant for the magnacut steel, and it came in the lightweight version with FRN scales, which I really like. The knife is indeed very lightweight, almost to the point of feeling cheap, and the action is very smooth. If I had to complain about anything, it's that the scales are turning blue in spots from my jeans. Not a big deal for me, but I am considering getting some plain black scales anyways as I don't like my knives to be super noticeable when carried in the pocket. Otherwise, this is a fantastic knife in a fantastic steel, and I have no doubt it will last a lifetime of service.

I'm somewhat of a collector of knives and have purchased them from various vendors. Knives Plus has been the best experience by far.
