The blade has a hollow grind, a flipper, and the Spyderco Hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The bead blasted titanium handle, 2.54 inches closed, has ergonomic contours with bird's beak curve for secure purchase, sturdy R.I.L. (Reeve Integral Lock) frame lock, blue anodized folding "tail", blue anodized pivot pin accent, and a blue anodized titanium pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Spyderco Pochi Knife has an overall open length of 3.94 inches, and it weighs 1.7 ounces. Made in Taiwan.
From the 2020 Spyderco Reveal 5 product guide: Japanese knifemaker Kazuyuki Sakurai specializes in intricate, handcrafted folding knives, many of which are inspired by the shapes of animals. Some of his most popular designs are the dog-shaped knives in his "Pochi" (poh-chee) series, which draws its name from the most common Japanese dog name, roughly the equivalent of "Spot."
His first Spyderco collaboration faithfully translates this novel design into a unique production folder with a hollow-ground CPM S45VN™ blade, a bead-blasted titanium handle, a Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.), and a blue-anodized folding "tail," titanium pocket clip, and pivot-pin accent.
