From the Spyderco 1999 Product Guide: Designed to incorporate an intricate skeletal pattern, the "Q" exemplifies the functional simplicity found in Spyderco's other models. Laser cut blades feature the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole and either the Spyderco logo (standard production) or a customized design (ideal for premiums). Every blade boasts a unique steel configuration with the structural integrity of a working tool. The injection-molded handle - also formed in an elaborate Spyderco pattern - is made of durable Zytel ST for an ultra-light feel. This model introduces two formed wire mechanisms: the patented offset SpringClip, which can be removed and repositioned on the handle; and the high-tech offset SpringLock, which is strong yet uncomplicated in design and use. Combining only the essential features, the "Q" unites minimal mass and weight with all the traditional Spyderco cutting performance.
