From the Spyderco website: HAP40 is a high-speed tool steel produced by the powder metallurgy process. Containing generous amounts of tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt, it possesses exceptional toughness and high abrasion resistance, making it an excellent candidate for blade steel. These unique limited-edition Sprint Run knives combine all the proven design features of our best-selling lightweight models with full-flatground laminated blades made with a central core of HAP40 flanked by layers of SUS 410 martensitic stainless steel. All the knives in Spyderco's HAP40 Sprint Run series feature distinctive burnt-orange-colored FRN handles.
