From the Spyderco Product Guide: Bushcraft is both a tradition and a sport. Derived from the survival skills of Southern Hemisphere Bushmen, it captured the attention of UK television audiences when survivalist Ray Mears produced a documentary series promoting its curriculum. Mear's series focuses on the skill of thriving and surviving nature with only a knife. Bushcraft knives have defined parameters and Spyderco's adaptation follows true. Blades must be between 3-5 inches (ours has a 4 inch blade) with no handguard and a full-tang and a contoured handle (ours is G-10). Bushcraft blades are high-carbon tool steel (ours is 0-1) for chopping, whittling and game processing.
