Spyderco Knives: Spyderco Tusk Knife, Discontinued Item BNIB, SP-C06TIP
This C06TIP Spyderco Tusk Knife is a discontinued item with serial number; BNIB, made in 2014. The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Tusk Knife that features a 2.38" blade made of LC 200 N steel, .118" thick, and a locking marlin spike made of 300 series stainless steel. The blade of this Spyderco knife has a hollow grind and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening; the marlin spike has an integral shackle key and a larger shackle key that is created when the spike is closed. The titanium handle, 4.17" closed, has the R.I.L. Reeve Integral Lock for the blade, a Ball Bearing Lock with ceramic ball bearing for the marlin spike, and a lanyard hole. A side to side reversible stainless steel pocket clip is included with this Spyderco Knife. The Spyderco Tusk Knife has an overall open length of 6.55" and it weighs 4.2 ounces. Made in Taiwan.
From the Spyderco website: The Tusk's handle is precision machined from two slabs of solid titanium. One end houses a Plain Edged blade ground from LC 200 N steel - a nitrogen-alloyed tool steel that offers extreme toughness and superior corrosion resistance - and locks open via a sturdy Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism.
At the other end of the Tusk's handle is a 300-series stainless steel marlinspike, which features a unique round-to-square cross section for increased leverage when loosening knots. A milled slot in the marlinspike's body and the gap between it and the handle also serve as shackle keys for unscrewing and tightening threaded shackles.
