The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Ulize Knife, designed by Ulrich Hennicke, that features a 4.11" blade made of VG10 stainless steel, .118" thick. The blade of this Spyderco knife has a slight recurve and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The black G10 handle, 5.44" closed, has skeletonized stainless steel liners and a stainless steel back spacer for strength, and a lockback. A side to side and end to end reversible steel pocket clip is included with this Spyderco Knife. The Spyderco Ulize Knife has an overall open length of 9.55", and it weighs 4.8 ounces. Made in Japan.
From the Spyderco website: In the open position, the Ulize manifests a continuous flowing curve from the butt of the handle to the tip of the blade. This curve and the handle's exceptional ergonomics not only make the Ulize extremely comfortable in the hand, they also create a slight negative angle of the blade that increases the pressure of the edge during cutting, enhancing overall cutting performance. The blade's negative angle also shortens its arc during opening, guaranteeing swift, positive one-handed blade deployment.
